India had an 85 percent increase in solar power generated year-over-year, with 10.6 billion units in the 10 month period from April to January (FY 2016-17). Solar accounted for 1.02 percent of all power generated in India during this timeframe, according to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). Solar now accounts for 15.07 percent of entire renewable energy generation in India.
