					</table><p>Wind turbine manufacturer <a href="https://www.senvion.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senvion India</a> has won anorder from Tata Power Renewable Energy (<a href="https://www.tatapowersolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TPREL</a>) to supply and install 83.7 MW of wind turbines.</p>
<p>Senvion will deploy 31 of its 2.7M130 wind turbines at a 130-metre hub height.</p>
<p>These turbines combine a large rotor and intelligent controls, making it ideal for independent power producers seeking dependable long-term performance.</p>
<p>Senvion will also manage long-term operations and maintenance for up to 25 years. The project will be monitored through Senvion’s indigenous platform, FleetProTM, which enables remote diagnostics, performance insights, and planned interventions to maximise turbine availability over the project’s lifespan.</p>
<p>In 2022, Senvion bagged a 102.6 MW wind turbine order from Tata Power Saurya, a subsidiary of TPREL.</p>
<p>Senvion’s offerings include 2.7 MW, 3.1 MW, and 4.2 MW wind turbines.</p>
<p>The company has a manufacturing capacity of 2 GW and an operational wind portfolio of over 1.5 GW across India.</p>
<p>Senvion has a 1 GW nacelle and hub manufacturing plant in Baramati, Maharashtra.</p>
<p>The company also has two blade manufacturing plants in Vadodara and Trichy, with a combined production capacity of 1 GW. Its tower manufacturing facility has the capacity to produce 10 towers each month.</p>
<p>Last year, KP Group, through its group entities, KPI Green Energy, KP Energy, and KP Green Engineering, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kp-group-senvion-to-develop-2-gw-of-wind-wind-solar-hybrid-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into a framework agreement with Senvion to jointly develop up to 2 GW of wind and wind-solar hybrid projects across India over the next three years.</p>
<p>According to Mercom India Research, the country <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-records-highest-ever-wind-capacity-additions-at-6-3-gw-in-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> 6.3 GW of wind power capacity in 2025, an 85.2% YoY increase from 3.4 GW in 2024. India’s wind power market improved in 2025, supported by higher tender activity, stronger bidder participation, and more competitive tariffs. Gujarat topped capacity additions with 2.3 GW, followed by Karnataka (1.68 GW) and Madhya Pradesh (703 MW). As of December 2025, the cumulative installed wind capacity stood at 54.5 GW.</p>
<p>Last year, TPREL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/suzlon-secures-838-mw-wind-turbine-order-from-tata-power-renewable-energy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">awarded</a> an 838 MW wind turbine order to Suzlon.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://kpgroup.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KP Group</a>, through its group entities, <a href="https://www.kpigreenenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KPI Green Energy</a>, <a href="https://kpenergy.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KP Energy</a>, and <a href="https://kpgreenengineering.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KP Green Engineering</a>, has entered into a framework agreement with wind turbine manufacturer <a href="https://www.senvion.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senvion India</a> to jointly develop up to 2 GW of wind and wind-solar hybrid projects across India over the next three years.</p>
<p>Under the agreement, KP Group will conduct project site identification and development. This includes land acquisition, obtaining statutory permits and approvals, and completing the balance of plant (BoP) execution. The BoP includes conducting civil works and providing internal roads, foundations, electrical systems, and grid evacuation up to interconnection points.</p>
<p>Senvion India will supply the wind turbine generators for the projects. The company has plants in Baramati in Maharashtra, Vadodara and Ahmedabad in Gujarat, and Trichy in Tamil Nadu, for the manufacture of nacelles and hubs, blades and towers.</p>
<p>KP Group provides solutions in the wind, solar, hybrid energy, battery energy storage system, and green hydrogen sectors.</p>
<p>In October this year, KPI Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/kpi-green-bags-600-mw-solar-plus-storage-fve-lifecare" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a letter of intent from UAE-based FVE Lifecare General Trading, part of the F Plus Group, to develop a 600 MW solar plus storage project in India at an estimated cost of ₹10.5 billion (~$119.02 million). It will design, develop, finance, and commission an integrated solar plus battery energy storage project to deliver reliable, round-the-clock renewable power.</p>
<p>In September, KPI Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/kpi-green-secures-%E2%82%B932-billion-loan-from-sbi-for-1-gw-renewable-energy-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> approval from the State Bank of India for a ₹32 billion (~$360.77 million) loan for its solar and hybrid independent power producer projects in Gujarat. The approval comprises both fund-based and non-fund-based facilities to part-finance the development of its 250 MW solar project and 370 MW hybrid project.</p>
<p>In the same month, KPI Green Energy’s board of directors <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/kpi-green-to-raise-%E2%82%B96-7-billion-through-green-bonds-issue" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> the issuance of ₹6.7 billion (~$76.05 million) in secured, listed, rated, senior, redeemable, transferable, non-convertible certified green bonds through a private placement to eligible investors. The bonds will be issued in one or more tranches in dematerialized form and listed on the Negotiated Trade Reporting Platform under the New Debt Market Segment of the National Stock Exchange of India.</p>


KP Group, Senvion to Develop 2 GW of Wind, Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects

<p>Germany-based <a href="https://www.senvion.com/global/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Senvion GmbH</a>, a German wind turbine manufacturer, has announced that it has entered into a binding agreement with a strategic investor to sell and transfer its fully operational Indian entity.</p>
<p>However, Senvion has not divulged any further details or the name of the investor except that the company is a global industrial conglomerate with a strong engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) capabilities.</p>
<p>The agreement underlines that the full ownership of Senvion India will be transferred to the strategic investor along with the company’s assets such as factory, personnel, installed, and currently ongoing project. The investor will also be in-charge of Senvion India’s intellectual property relevant to the Indian market, including its support towards the Make in India strategy.</p>
<p>According to the company’s statement, in 2019, Senvion India was made an independent entity to manufacture, supply, and operate wind turbines.</p>
<p>India’s wind energy sector, along with the rest of the renewable energy industry, has been facing multiple challenges on various fronts over the past few years, and <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-wind-failed-gain-speed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">2019 was no different</a>. The industry is still grappling with the slowing economy, low tariffs, tariff caps, curtailment, infrastructure constraints, and a plethora of duties and tariffs. Wind installations are expected to come at approximately 3 GW for the year.</p>
<p>“The parties have now entered the final closure stage, where legal documentation and agreements are being discussed. We expect, subject to any regulatory approvals, the transaction to close before June 2020,” the company added.</p>
<p>Amit Kansal, the chief operating officer of Senvion India, said that the announcement is a significant milestone for Senvion India as the company has now found a strategic investor who is interested in continuing to serve the larger Indian renewable market.</p>
<p>“Senvion India makes 85% of its turbines in India and has created over 1,000 jobs directly and indirectly,” Kansal added.</p>
<p>Dr. Thorsten Bieg, Partner at GÖRG, who joined the management board of Senvion GmbH as a restructuring expert, said, “We have started working towards the earliest closure and transfer of the Indian business to new shareholders. As announced earlier, Senvion India is a fully-independent entity of Senvion GmbH. Now, we have also signed legally binding agreements to transfer the relevant intellectual property and knowhow to Senvion India, which will be effective upon closure.”</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the Global Wind Energy Council (<a href="https://gwec.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">GWEC</a>) has released a <a href="https://mercomindia.com/indias-lockdown-hurts-wind-supply-globally/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new report</a> which analyzes how COVID-19 is impacting the global wind industry, including India. According to GWEC’s report, “When the COVID-19 crisis was first reported in China, disrupting China’s wind supply chain, large western turbine producers began shifting their supply chain by using their Indian facilities as a solution to mitigate the expected damages caused by COVID-19 at their production facilities in China.</p>
